I don’t think any two handed dinghy sailors are one meter plus apart however deeper in guidance they generally meet other criteria, they usually don’t face each other and there is plenty of ventilation.
I think the one meter is about opening more opening business, upto clubs and individuals

I think that this is now getting to the (Scary in some cases) point where you have to trust people to use common sense and to do the "right thing".
On that basis, actually there is no reason why two people cant sail a two man boat if they have no symptoms and have not been contacted by track and trace. Yes, there is a risk but it is small. Not that I'm an expert but I'd probably want the daily infections/R number to be a bit less before we all started sailing two man boats, but if people use their intelligence I think we would be ok. Will I be doing it? Not yet. Lets get something resembling "proper" racing first - that makes taking a small risk more worthwhile.

Common sense needs to be applied in my view. Walk out your door and it seems that the general public is already applying common sense in most cases so we should be able to do the same in our boats! In fact from what I have seen, people are already sailing two person boats as Paramedic says but they have decided to stay off social media for fear of a grilling from those that like a good rule.

My company sticking with 2 metre rule, that will ensure 1 metre rule is maintained, amazing how many people think 1 metre is 2

I’d love to know the what the equivalent of one and two meters face to face vs both facing the same way. Think they should be emphasising the not face to face more than they are

It is a bit like the three boat lengths rule ...which can be rather 'flexible' with some ! Seriously though in a 2 person dinghy it is hardly possible not to be within a metre for much of the time... and wishing things were different is not going to change anything.

Judging by the large groups of good gathering on the far side of our lake, common sense is totally nonexistent.
