Isn't the slogan "You need never miss a weekend's sailing" just a bit off in these times?

Just paid my Newton Crum renewal, no idea why, God knows when I'm ever going to sail again.

I got rid of all my boats last month, so no renewals this year.

How the heck did you get rid of your boats? Can't have sold them, did you give them to some charity?

Mainly concerned about club closing, we were having trouble setting duty roster for summer season, didn't want to be stuck with storage issues, only double stacking trailer didn't go.

At least if you've paid your insurance you're covered if someone nicks it off your drive or your garage with boat in catches fire or another boat blows over onto it or someone vandalises the boats in the dinghy park or .....
And many clubs make it a condition that boats stored at the club must be insured. |

Many years ago Steve Goacher (Welsh one not Northern) had a fireball in his drive and some kid lobbed a firework over the fence into it. Nothing left. He hadn't bothered to insure it as it was safe at home. Not worth the risk and if its at a club most say it must be insured to be on the premises. |
