We've made use of the RYA offer of a one-year free VIP pass for Virtual Regatta Inshore; currently planning to have our (cancelled) Spring Series on-line... :)

Our club is also using the Virtual Regatta inshore. Personally, I much prefer the real thing. But if lockdown continues longer I may give it another go.

Yes I have now joined in with our clubs Virtual regatta.
Fun enough. Although it is funny I make the same mistakes on the start line and finish in the same place as if I was actually in a boat. |

My biggest problem is the steering. I can nudge it a degree, or career round about 90 degrees, but anything in between is a challenge. That and I keep hoisting or dropping the kite instead of pressing the tack/gybe button...

My club has now done it’s 3rd Wednesday night of Virtual Regatta racing. It’s a bit of fun and yes, the game has its nuances and is far from perfect in the controls. Though it does remind you of the complexity of real word sailing which cannot be replicated virtually.
For example, the 49er handles so much quicker than the J70 (as u would expect in the real world but takes you by surprise in the game) It’s a bit of fun and passes the time Edited by ttc546 - 15 Apr 20 at 9:40pm |

Virtual Skipper 5 is also still going - free to download and play online. As an older game it seems to work ok on slow connections.

I think you can get something (called Parallel? - sorry never owned any Apple stuff) that will let you run it.

Parallels lets you run Windows alongside OSX but you still need a copy of Windows on the computer.
