I hadn't heard of it either, just came up in a discussion about non draught beers, Vimto far superior to Mackeson any day, the Vimto is polluted, favourite pop anyone?

Vimto or Mackeson? Neither for me, thanks! Reminds me of someone who used to drink Guinness and orange juice, except there at least the component parts are drinkable, even if the mix is vile.

I couldn't till vimto and mackeson!

Though I used to drink pints of purple nasty, which was snakebite with pernod and black in it.

For those with sheltered childhoods, snakebite is half lager, half cider. Drink it quick before weird stuff settles.

The 80s is blurred.

Never tried it, snakebite, have seen signs in some pubs stating its banned.

I don't see Mackeson around any more, it was brewed in Hythe, they knocked the building down years ago, nice flats and car park now like just about everything else of interest down here.

Vimto's about isn't it a kids cola drink from before cola was a thing even? Like that 'Bing' which came from the Silver Spring factory, another flattened bit of land awaiting development. Not far from the old Dormobile works, another story of opportunity lost.
