Hi All,

New to sailing and loving it,

On a RYA 1+2 couse on a cold reservoir in yorkshire and got myself a drysuit after the instuctors threatened capsize practise!
(I'm a poor swimmer and was woried that the shock of cold water would be a bit scary )

My drysuit has fabric 'socks' which are much bigger than my feet. It's not a huge problem but the socks are a little uncomforable when scrunched up inside my wet boots.

Any tips on how to get my feet comfy ? should the socks be tailored to fit my feet by drysuit magicians ?

You normally get wetsuit boots 1 or 2 sizes too big to go over dry suit feet.

1. Wear normal socks inside the drysuit.

2. Pull the feet tight, even if that means your heel isn't on the heel of the drysuit perfectly.

3. Fill your wetboots with warm tap water before you try to push the drysuit feet in.

4. If you really cant get comfy, you can switch to ankle seals... but your feet will be cold and wet!

Yup, big boots, thick socks inside the drysuit and you'll be surprised how quickly you forget that they felt uncomfortable when you first put them on.
