Does anyone know if it's possible to dye Herzog and what substances are suitable for doing it? Would be nice to get some colour back into the ropes and don't fancy forking out silly money to just make the boat more aesthetically pleasing.

I would advise against as adding chemicals to the rope may cause its fibres to turn brittle or reduce its breaking load.

Ok, its a bad idea, and I can still have a laugh with confusing the crew....... "Pull the grey rope"......."which one".........."the vang"............

We still call it vang because gnav is a marketing term for upside down vang and we were using the term vang on other boats so it's just easier to refer to it in that way. The funny thing about our boat is our control lines swap position on each side of the boat, the rear cleat at one side has the "vang"  and on the other side, the rear cleat has the cunningham. Think I might mark which lines which on the wings with permanent marker to halt any small confusions......
