The 31st East Coast Piers Race sponsored by Zhik is being held over the weekend of the 7th and 8th July at Marconi Sailing Club. This year it's part of the Allen Endurance Series.
The East Coast Piers Race is a long distance sailing event which goes from inside the River Blackwater and out into the estuary and back as the Colne Point course (27 miles). The weekend is open to Fast Dinghies and Catamarans. There are various course options on Sunday based on the speed of your boat. There are yachts (mother boats) which line the course and are there to help - there are also a number of ribs patrolling sectors helping you if needed. The course is very easy to follow. More information on the race website - www.eastcoastpiersrace.com Saturday 2 inshore races starting at around 1pm with a briefing at midday Saturday evening social with a fantastic band and plenty of beer from our new sponsors The Mighty Oak Brewery.
