Laser Lesson

This year I have joined my local sailing club North Lincolnshire and Humberside Sailing Club www.nlsail.co.uk
I have been sailing for around twenty five years and have some reasonable experience in various crafts large and small. This past weekend had a good forecast and with my boat laid up for the winter I chose to pop down to the club in the attempt to beg, borrow or steal a boat for the racing. Thankfully a Laser was available after various parts were borrowed. I didn't expect to do very well in the racing having never sailed a Laser and only just started racing again, but what an education it proved to be. I would recommend anyone that is starting to race in any size and class of boat to have a go in a Laser I learnt more in one day than it would have in one season. After the first race of feeling out of control for 90% of the race I could settle down and try to win. I did'nt come first but I did'nt come last either, got a cold bum but a huge grin as well.
