Pico, trust me. I'm only 40 ish kilograms and I can manage one with a jib at my club. They are also super common.

A Taz came up for sale locally this morning, so I shot round and bought it.
My daughter knows nothing about it yet, and I can't wait to see her face on her birthday when she receives it.

Tera is more stable than Taz, Pico better for sailing with your daughter, but big for by herself.

Hi folks

I'd like to pick your brains if you don't mind.
I'm looking at buying my daughter her first dinghy of her own, nothing too fancy, just something 2nd hand.

At the moment she sails the club RS Teras, and enjoys them, so they're very much on the list of possibilities, but there aren't many around for sale.
The other options I've been considering are the Pico and Taz.  I know a bit on the Taz's as her friend sails one, so I know it's suitable.  But I'm having the same problem of trying to find one.
The dinghy that I have seen plenty of is the Pico, but I know little of them.  They look fairly big, and I'm concerned if it'll be too much for a 9 year old to sail on her own.
Any advice welcome
