Topic: Series scoring issue Posted: 06 May 14 at 8:41pm |
I'm trying to set up a series for one of our fleet where their discard system is; half the number of races in the series less one to count.
All i seem the be getting is half plus 1 to count. How and where do i set the correct formula please?

Click on scoring system.
Go to the Series scoring tab The second box down is 'discard profile' type s/2-1 into the text bar. This should do what you want but I find s/2-0.5 works better but cant remember why! |

Hi, yes i've tried that both as s/2-1 and s/2-0.5 but i'm sill getting s/2+1 as the results.
I suspect that the s/2+1 is set as a default somewhere else, any ideas?

Works fine for me and has done for many versions.
We use (s+1) /2 to have half the races rounded down to count. Use the profile test (gear wheel icon to the right of the formula box) to make sure the logic has been understood, and also [teach grandmother] score the series again before looking at the results [/teach grandmother] Edited by JimC - 07 May 14 at 1:02pm |

Thank you to everyone who has helped.. it's now been sorted!
I was wrongly trying to use a formula to show how many races I wanted left counting and not how many I wanted to discard! So, yes the correct formulae are; "s/2+1" or "(s+1)/2"
