Topic: Email Notification of Replies Posted: 30 Apr 14 at 9:27pm |
I always leave the "Email Notify me of Replies" box checked when I reply on a thread, but as a result I seem to spend ages deleting strings of notification e-mails.
All I really need is the first e-mail, as that is the only one I open. Instead of opening each in turn, I view the first thread then click the "New Posts" to find the rest. So I would really welcome being given the option of not receiving the follow-up e-mails. Is that a technical possibility?

I've just deleted 14 e-mails after using only a link in the first to get onto the forum.
Does nobody else find this a problem?

I actually quite like it how it is, it means I can keep up to date with what is happening in a thread from my email without having to visit this website. I just visit the forum occasionally and subscribe to threads that interest me and then just read all the emails....

Possibly if I were chained to a touchscreen, I'd do the same thing.
But I was only suggesting it as an option. In effect, I'd like just the option of the 'notify me' box unchecking itself after the first e-mail had been sent.

I should have said the forum doesn't look very good on a phone, hence why I prefer the emails......

I gave up with the button and just spend far too much time with Y&Y open.

Maybe that's Mark's cunning plan?!

I'm maybe underestimating how hard this would be, given that once I'd responded to the single e-mail and viewed the thread, I'd want the box to re-check itself if I hadn't posted anything to re-set the box-check automatically.
