True, I get much much more pleasure than pain which makes the painful ones all the more traumatising..

What a crap day today was, not only am I back in the Dry Suit with my wrong gloves, then just lining up for the gun twenty seconds to go and suddenly nothings working, almost like I'm head to wind, in fact I was head to wind massive shift everyone down the wrong end of the line suddenly bang over to port and fly. Not only that but the Contender just below me is in the water which puts a laser over into me and I'm having to gybe off.
I think I made it off the line last, cold and as if it couldn't get any worse, my footstrap snaps... In the end I was pleased to have a reason to sail straight in, bloody aweful day, 5 degrees ffs. Edited by iGRF - 24 Apr 16 at 9:18pm |

Last Sunday
towed the boat over to Chichester for 2 races of the snowflake and to sail against another Phantom, rig the boat, enter grab a coffee only to see phantom packing up to go home. He was feeling ill so cant blame him as the forecast was looking like hard work. Decided as I was their to race anyway, launch beat up to the windward mark, run back to the start couple of tacks and a gybe really just hanging about waiting for guns. Big Bang (but not the gun) U bolt attaching the shroud snaps and bends luckily leaving the shroud still hooked on the end. Sail down get tow back to the club, pack up and go home! |

Tides all wrong so I got cracking on the base for my new man cave, bloody hard work as it turns out! Would have been far better to go sailing...

nope- I looked into it, but it made more sense to take out a Spanish bank account. They do not rip you off, unless you use a cash point from another provider- then you are royally fleeced. It's less of an issue now, our Bank merged with another one just after the crisis and that means there's plenty of holes in walls. It also pays to extend the facilities to cover other countries in the Eurozone- I once made the mistake of using my spanish debit card in a french ski resort without checking the out of country charges... d'oh.

You have a Euro a/c in UK, KW? Does it pay any useful interest or is the bank ripping you off, as usual?

haha - if only- the money will be going into my Euro account as a holiday fund. Converting it back to sterling is going to be too painful right now....
