Hi all

October is the start of the development season for YachtsandYachting.com. One of the first things we've been working on is a new method of displaying the photo galleries on event reports.

I'd really appreciate it if you can try out the following articles on your computers and report back any problems you find, or any suggestions you have. If you do find problems, please mention which operating system and web browser you are using and, if possible, post a screen-grab of the problem.

Test the gallery by using the arrows either side of the main photo on:
http://www.yachtsandyachting.com/news3/172919/International-Moth-Worlds-day-4
http://www.yachtsandyachting.com/news3/172926/Race-action-in-strong-winds

This is an article without a gallery:
http://www.yachtsandyachting.com/news3/172923/Flying-Fifteens-at-Middle-Nene

This is an article without a gallery and a portrait orientation photo:
http://www.yachtsandyachting.com/news3/172909/Festival-of-Sails-Entries-Open

And here's an article with no photos:
http://www.yachtsandyachting.com/news3/172921/Mirrors-at-Ripon

If you're wondering why 3 of the 5 articles are without galleries, it's due to the code behind the scenes still being in use in some cases and I want to make sure it doesn't cause problems somewhere!

You can actually test article by adding a 3 after the /news part of the URL (the 3 is due to it being version 3 of the news layout since we changed to the new style site).

Many thanks for your help - there are many more exciting developments in the pipeline! Smile

Cheers, Mark

Ah yes, I should have said that I've disabled it in IE7 & IE8! Do you see the main photo with no gallery?

Yes, yes I do. Sensible option, no point trying to make anything fancy work in such a horrible, antiquitated browser...

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

It works really well on my Nexus 7, but at the moment Safari on the ipad isn't detecting the gallery button presses - I'm looking into that one...

The links all work well on my Windows 8 system: In both the desktop IE v10 and the modern app IE v10 version.
