What a fantastic event.

Where else can you mix and race with World, European and National champions from many different classes and recieve helpful advice and friendly support.

This was my first time but it wont be the last. Special thanks must go to Mike & Cath Pickles for organising the event and spreading prizes right down through the fleet.

Great racing, although 85 fastboats on the start line can be quite scary, and great social. Thanks Rutland and thanks Fastsail and the event sponsers.

Go to www.fastsail.org.

Its a group put together to raise the profile of the self run symetric trapeze classes and every year they hold a mass event called the SGP which was last weekend.

One race had a "Le Mans" style start evidently.  Hopwfully the piccies will be up on the site very soon.

I would like to point out that rogerd sails a boat specifically adapted for extreme ironing

It's a beauty!

Not sure what the sheep was but a pink Hornet was found in the morning Parked in front of the club house with a blow up sheep up its mast.

The whole aim is to spread prizes down the fleet.

The "le mans" start was interesting as it was an off shore wind and it was a race to raise the kite and get it filling as your crew (who had to hold the boat until the sound signal) was getting dragged out.

There were a few who didn't manage to hold on though (Nick and Caroline where are you....)

The Laser 2s were very keen to start too as I recall....

The only reason Rogers boat is adapted for extreme ironing is because the crew lays on and ironing board! Lovely boat though Roger.
