Do you think there would be any way of getting any history on it? The only id it has is the plate on the mast plus the name "wild Oat" that looks original

I would check the dimensions to confirm what the boat is, the Sonatina brochure dimensions differ from your original listing (14'6" vs 15 1/2 feet), and your boat has a stern deck which the Sonatina does not seem to have as standard.

Do you have a sail? The sail mark would perhaps give other clues, as would the sail number assuming he sail originally belonged to the boat.

If it is a home built boat, you would probably struggle to find out much info as it is unlikely that there would be a class associate.

Check out http://www.cvrda.org/ if you havent done so already.

The sails are missing, (I'm on the look out for a set) so i'm unable to go down that route.

Just had a chat with my dad about about what ideas you guys have come up with, he doesn't seem to think the design is a home build, he said the design is to intricate.

I'll pop down tomorrow and take a few closer picures and measure it up properly and post them.

Thanks for your help on this

Ok. I think it is Tempo. (that was one of my early guesses but I discarded it because the length was listed incorrectly on the page).

Designed by the father of the Sonatina designer hence the similarity.
