I've seen an email purporting to come from ryaonline@rya.org.uk saying that web hosting with RYA-Online.net is to be withdrawn on 28/02/13 (!!!).

I have seen an old article daying this would happen some time in 2012 but I can't see anything else prominent.

There seemes to be a number of club sites hosted there.

Does anyone know if this is true or a scam?

It looks genuine enough to me.
Like some other things - sailing is more enjoyable when you do it with someone else

OK I've spoke to the RYA and this service is being withdrawn and the date of 28/02/2013.

So if you club or association has a web presence through this site, it won't have for long.

I'm not sure how the RYA or the outfit that runs rya-online.net have gone about emailing contacts but it is possible that the contacts they have may not be current.

Ahh how quant, the first ever website I developed (using powerpoint with action buttons filtered on a html converter... nice) was hosted by them.  I'm surprised anyone or any club would still use it tbh... guess that's why it's being shutdown.
