DESCRIPTION:This annual championship brings together the cream of IRC boats to the Solent for a series of competitive races. A unique formula allows an overall winner to come from any of the tightly banded classes, meaning the smaller boats have as much chance as the grand prix racers to claim the title, if sailed well, with recent winners including the 1939 classic sloop Whooper, competing in IRC Four. In 2020 the title was claimed by Arcus, racing in IRC Three and on their maiden event in a newly-acquired boat.
