Guys I'll be looking for a box trailer in the new year. Are there any Opi parents out there that have a trident double Opi box trailer or similar? Has anyone tried fitting a single laser size dinghy on one or are they just too short? Thanks

If you want to fit a Laser on you will be best to get one that fits. Then you can put in extra cross beams for the smaller boats.

Your little ones won't be in Oppies forever and the more flexibility the better.

I have a trailer that would work, my Laser is on it now.

It is a heavy duty Keels on Wheels trailer that was originaly for two Toppers.

PM for details.

Andrew makes these and sometimes has secondhand ones... or knows people that are selling...

Mersea Trailers do both a double stacker specifically for an Opi and one for a Laser / Topper. The latter has wider racks and a longer draw bar.
I bought an Opi trailer from them and subsequently added the wider racks and longer draw bar. Mersea Trailers were extremely helpful and the conversion not too eye watering.

Good luck.

I think Charlie is looking at converting a Oppi box trailer for use with a bigger boat.  the reason for this is they are easier to source second hand??

if your going to buy a new one, do it quickly before the end of the month, as all boat trailers will need to be certifited, and this adds about 300 quid

Thats the first I have heard of that, I have not spotted anything in Y&Y. If this is the case then that will add 50% to the cost of most dinghy trailers.
