I don't either, it is advertised elsewhere at £16500, I wondered if it was some sort of viral publicity stunt, or an auction spoil attempt on a stolen bike.

Not a chance!
That looks like something that's been made in a garden shed with bits from the scrappy (By me! who can't build anything).

a quick google reveals that it's a designer brand (highly fashionable in Asian markets) and that the lucky bidder will be able to export for around a £20k return to Japanese clients who want to get ahead of the 14 month waiting list at the Moulton factory.

Sounds like a good deal, but I don't know enough about the target destination market to take the punt.

Besides if enough folks find out that it's cool and get them, it's no longer cool right?

If that's a bit cheap for you, there's this piece of http://megadeluxe.com/bicycles/the-coren-the-urban-carbon-bike - industrial-design-w4nk at a mere $33,000.

Go to their http://www.ubc-coren.com/?lang=en - website for some utter toss spouted about the design and manufacturing philosophy

That bent top tube design is especially idiotic- after all, that'll add weight compared to a straight tube.

google alex moulton and see what a great designer he has been for the last 60 odd years.

he has been a major innovator ( and eccentric ) in the bike and car industry.

Yes but its an extremely sexy piece of kit!

I do prefer a more classic bike though. My current commuter is a retro steel fixey. The older and more classic the better in my opinion.

That Coren is a stunning looking thing.  To me a millionaires pub bike!  Bloody awesome.
