... anyone else noticing the power brands muscling out anything you recognise? love Morrison & Rhodes little red adidas pixie boots....  a little harsh not see even one Volvo logo anywhere after all the years of support they've given Team GBR and ISAF as a whole....  I heard one of the commentators say Dempsey had a couple of energy gels between races. I'm sure the correct briefing should have been a couple of Big Macs and a coca cola. Although too much coca cola would probably mean he'd fail a piss test- caffeine is a controlled substance isn't it?

There's a pictures on Facebook of Goodie sailing in the same little red pixie boots although in one picture they're miraculously Stella McCartney blue! I think the press office had been at that one. ------------- |

Look around the stadiums for other sports- there's no advertising. Kit manufacturer logos are the maximum. You'll notice the Team GB sailing kit is all de-branded (apart from those bootees, as Addidas is a sponsor) , most of the GB swimmers are using de-branded Speedo kit. There's (relatively) small logos under display screens for the manufacturer. It is a bizarre one- for all the meag-coroporate-advertising-wallbocks surrounding the Games, they actually ad free. ------------- -_ Al |

Nearly - it's actually because of all the mega-corporate-advertising-wallbocks that they go completely over the top at removing all the advertising bollox. If MaccD's has paid Seb Coe $$$M to be able to stuff burgers into the punters mouths then the last thing they want it some-one sailing past in a boat with a "Home of the Whopper" logo on it.. At least with the BBC 'sailor's profile pieces' filmed pre-the games they're in full volvo livery etc. No doubt if you win gold you get to keep the car for a bit longer after the games.. |
