Where is the photo, or the video and aerial view?

From that finish it is hard to see how they came second.

I think the G B team should protest the result.

The BBC results showed that they came first which is what would be expected from that finishing scenario.
The official timing shows they both finished at exactly the same time.
It looked to me that Percy was ahead.
Come on team GB fight for your rights.

From the overhead pictures it looked impossible to call, I got the impression the Brazilians caught a wave at just the right moment, but it was only by a minute margin, I'm sure Team GBR will ask for the footage.

Sparky just said on TV that they are asking for all the evidence....

I bet the boats at either end both called it different.

I'd have said from the camera angle the BBC showed which was kind of down the line from the none committee starboard end, it looked liek the brits got it by a nose and flappy jib but the Brazillians were on a bit of a wave overtaking as it happened, how they managed that I don't know, must have tripped, missed grabbing at the zimmer frame and sheeted in by mistake..

At the time the first report on the Nothe and the results showed a GBR win.....very odd that it should change.  Especially if you go back to the last point of certainty.

I'm not at all sure that last point of certainty is usefully applied to finishing places... Nothing wrong with a dead heat if its genuine.

I know it's not Jim, but I guess what I meant was that the announced result was a first for GBR (at least it was on the Nothe), and you would need somehing to change that decision.

Just watched it again on the highlights show and I can't see how the brazilians got the decision.  Looked like GBR ahead thruout.

on the tele/online, we saw it announced first as BRA, then GBR.

ISAF's first set of online results put GBR in first place, but they were changed within half an hour to BRA first.

I would assume there is a video camera on the finish line for the race officials to review any close calls, there are certainly race teams who do this as standard particularly in large fleets, and while this isn't a large fleet it's pretty important.

Had a tweet from Sparky after I asked if they were seeking the evidence...

- Rest assured, all such avenues are well covered. Unfortunately no change to the result. It'll be different today.

Lets just hope it's not critical at the end of the series...
