Any idea what material to use to pack a rudder head in a stock, or a board in a case?

And where to source it (in a hurry)?

I remember formica discs on old wooden boats.  Is there a modern equivalent?

This isn't about friction it's about packing it out so it stays central.  And I always find Jap tape comes off.

from previous there you are two thicknesses of shim  at minimal cost - it's just a shame there aren't as many pointless free CDs about  as there used to be (AOL)  and that  even a whole tube of pringles isn't enough ofr many people as once they've popped they can't stop ..
