Ok as a casual follower I have to say that 2011/2012 event has been a bit of a disappointment with one boat apparently having the edge, and each leg of the event being a bit "follow my leader" but....

This latest leg to Lisbon is awesome.

I do hope Abu Dhabi hold on and take the win, not only because its good for the event and with the current positions it will shake up the leader board a bit but also because Ian Walker and his crew deserve a break.

well the leg to Miami was exciting as well, but as you say this one is down to the wire - Groupama currently doing 22 knts, 2Knts faster than Abu Dhabi with ~15 nm to catch up

Which boat do you think has the edge? Telefonica had the edge for the first few legs, now it appears Puma are on a roll. Abu Dhabi are good inshore. I think it is still very open. I cant call who will win overall although I still wouldnt discount Puma just yet.....

I'd like to see Abu Dhabi get this leg win but I have a feeling Groupama will pip them to the post.  To be fair Groupama have had their own share of bad luck.

Successfully confusing ambition with ability since 1980.

Well done Abu Dhabi

That was certainly the most exciting race I followed but never saw!

Its a shame that the Volvo puts so much effort into trying to bring the race to the fans with cameras and media crews etc on the boats, and yet cant show you the finish?

they (the race organisers) seem almost grumpy about fans asking to see pictures of the finish live - dont know why, perhaps they just didnt think of at from the start, but it wouldnt be too difficult to do

I found finding the Live Stream when it did come online last night really difficult. I thought it would be under 'Live Stream' on the main menu, but this was showing the leg 7 start. When they did get live coverage it seems a shame that they hid it away.
