I have recently bought a share in a Victory and I wonder what the PY handicap is? I do not seem able to find the published list on the RYA site, perhaps I am being dim. Please can anyone help or give me a link?
Thank you, John.

John, The RYA does not publish a number for the Victory, as insufficient results get returned where the victory sails on handicap. A look at the Portsmouth Sailing Club website will show that they used 1115 for their frostbite series last year, which seemed to work well. I believe this was partly based on historical data where a Victory rated similarly to dinghies such as an Enterprise. It's fairly similar to the Squib, which does have a published number (1119 last year) which seems reasonable.
Since the Victories were mosly competing amongst themselves, it does not have to be rigorous, but did enable an acceptable overall result to be worked out for the Victories and selection of dinghies that were racing.

Thank you for your response and information. You are correct that Victories normally race against themselves as a class, but I am considering entering the Glynn Charles pursuit race in the Victory and had been asked what our handicap is. 1115 seems to be fair.
