This challenge has pedigree - I really hope they manage it for the next cup.

I am really dissapointened that there can't be a GBR team for the AC cup. We are one of the most developed nations within this world with some of the top sailors this world will ever see, it's just dissapointing we can't find sponsorship to fund acampaign.

Who wants to sponsor a boat for the most expensive and most boring event in history?

Just look at the coverage the event gets in the national press.

Does anybody know of any good websites with information about the funding of the America's Cup boats? I am currently doing a uni project about the involvment of big business in sport, and I thought sailing would make a refreshing change to what the lecturer normally gets to read about....

Thanks

ha ha!!!

You could try http://www.sailinganarchy.com - www.sailinganarchy.com , take it with a pinch of salt, it's an American site and they do love the scandal side of the sport when it comes to the AC stuff, lots of behind the scenes stuff there.

If you dig around http://www.sailingscuttlebutt.com/ - http://www.sailingscuttlebutt.com/  carries a lot of AC stories.

At least 50% of what you on sailinganarchy is rubbish. The only trouble is knowing which 50%.

I think the coverage in the press reflects how well we do...... our press are gloryboys, they like wins so they can say, 'best is the world blah blah blha'.If we won it, it would be a different story, plus a great event to have here.

If I had a lot of cash though.... I wouldn't be pitting it in a challenge.
