Hi,

Not posted for a while but have been lurking.

I'm doing a study into motivation in sailing and have a questionnaire, if anyone would like to oblige and fill it out it would be a massive help.

Completely anonymous and no obligation to answer any of the questions.

Its for my final year dissertation for a Marine Sports Science degree, its looking at how sailing clubs can encourage members and also why there is a decline in numbers from certain age groups.

Thanks to all those that have filled it out.

Done. There seemed to be some repetition in the second half of the survey - or was that me getting deja-vu? Confused

Some did seem to be a variation on the same questions. Filled in, hope it helps, but I wonder how many people who are disillusioned with the sport would fill a survey in?

The second part is "The 28-item Sport Motivation Scale" devised by someone called Pelletier, the answers then give an outcome. I found it quite repetitive myself but its widely used and is  designed to assess contextual intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, and amotivation which is what I wanted.

Thanks to you all again for filling it out.

It would be great to know your results. All clubs would love to know what to do to attract and maintain members.
