'After hours of practice, Dave was ready to take part in his first yacht race. He wasn't entirely sure what to expect, but he knew two things; how to attach his spinnaker pole and that there could be some exciting close quarters stuff. As he was hooking the sheets up to his pole he heard some shouting from the steering end and was somewhat perturbed when he turned round and found that he couldn't hook the pole to the mast as he had practised'
