The XOD's now have 140 boats entered for Cowes Week in their centenary year. Has there ever been a larger fleet at a one-design keelboat event in the UK?

Er would anyone care who was not on the way to Switzerland or concerned about Southern Cross's continued ability to sponsor the fleet?Wink

Without checking - I cannot be fussed TBH

I think the Flying Fifteen Worlds at HISC may well be able to top that.
Unless a Fifteen does not count as a one-design

What denotes a one-design anyway?

Flying Fifteen is definitely a one-design! 118 entries for the worlds at Hayling according to the event website.

Currently 132 FFs on the HISC entry list, but 15 of those are for the GBR Champs only (assume not qualified for Worlds) and about 30 for the Worlds only, so neither regatta is going to beat the XODs. BTW I think the FF is easily as much a one-design as the XOD...

The title of this on the main keelboat page just says "largest one design keelboat", as it couldn't fit the word Fleet in - I was hoping to find out the answer to that!

Have the Squibs ever got close?

Squibs had 108 at their 2009 nationals - I'm pretty sure that's the highest they've ever had.
