OK guys, now we have a thread........  Sound off guys.

Who are the Multihull sailors and what do you sail.

As you may know I previously raced a Tornado.  Having recently sold it, I will very soon purchase a new F-18 Capricorn.  We have the F-18 Worlds in Oz, Janurary 2007.  After this we plan to return to Tornado racing whilst continuing with the F-18.

Soon to be Team F-18 'ALIVE'

This is a pic of a fellow KCC club members Capricorn.  We hope to have 7 or more F-18s racing on Botany Bay for the up coming season.  2 Capricorns, 1 Nacra and 4 or more Tigers amoung other non F-18 classes.

OK, Started sailing cats when I was 11 (26 years ago before anyone asks!)

10 Years Dart 18 (helming for 9 of them)

11 Years Hurricane 5.9 (and a few guest appearences on other things)

coming up to 5 years on the Inter 17 which is currently for sale

(also wifee owned a Dart 15 for a while, but I sailed it most of the time )

I'l crew for anyone (we nearly anyone), but I prefer helming.

Currently, and plan to be sailing for a very long time, a hurricane 5.9. Local club has an 18 strong fleet and regularly gets 10+ boats on the start line what more could I want?

Hi Jalani here,

Some of you may already know that I have recently bought a Stealth F16. Past history is 35 years of catsailing starting with Swifts and progressing through Shearwater, Condor, Tornado among other 'guest' appearances on  various Hobies, Darts etc.

I may be old but I can still waggle a tiller!

Hi,

Just sold my heavy (he he) Nacra F18 and am going to buy an A-Class; looking now if anybody has one.  Reason is because I get time to sail in weekdays, it's light, it's fast and it's supremely beautiful.  Dart 18 & Hawk before the Nacra.

Hurricane, have you decided on an A-Class, or is it just a possibility; more and more people seem to be moving in their direction...

PS: Stephen - v cool logo.

Hi all,

have been sailing 40 years, racing my own boats for 37 years. Started sailing on cat with family, but spent most of time on Monos, also alot of sailboarding, sailed every thing I could get a look at over the years including up to 50' mono's and cats offshore. Am now a born again catsailor F16 has been like a breath of fresh air to my sailing , just can't get enough of the spinnaker sailing, it's the best.

Hey you guys thinking about A's, that is what my F16 started life as, now it's a new improved faster version. Take a look you can't do this on an A in this breeze.

Hi Stephen,

Altered was a prototype for the Mk5 Boyer. Known as the "Purple Helmet". It was initialy sailed by Glen Ashby, I bought it of a later owner, in very poor condition the ideal A to chop up. I took 11" off the bow and 9" off the stern leaving it at 5m long class max.. New beams and tramp to make it 7" wider, max. being 2.5m. the hulls where and are canted.

The mast is  OZ made by Allied Composites I think. I had to cut .5m of the top and increase weight for F16 rules, I did this by putting cedar covered in epoxy inside crossways. This has made it legal and also bullet proof, surviving dropping when unrigging whoops, cartwheels, spinnaker flogging with main let go and hulls buried to main beam .

Mainsail was custom made, sails I got with it where shot. It has much more roach than A main and a little bit longer boom.

More hot photos of Altered and others taken by Ian English of Port Kembla S.C. can be found at www.pksc.com.au/kk_2005_results.htm

Regards Gary.
