I go to Abersoch every year for Dinghy week.  Accommodation is a bit pricey, but then its going to be at the hight of summer at probably the UK's premier dinghy sailing week.

Its fantastic, the people, the racing, the food the beer.

Recommend it!

I am thinking of doing the nationals yes.

Looking at cost, it will be better to camp, would be there Saturday - Wednesday (sailing from Sunday - Tuesday) but after advise. Is there anywhere within walking distance or is it a drive all the time. How much does it cost to pay for parking at the club site?

I have looked at the club and websites for accomodation but after recommendations really.

Way back when, the bar was really, really cheap. Can't remember much else about the week for some reason...

Richard there is a campsite thats about a 10 minute walk.  However we found camping to be almost as much as renting a small house, when we allowed for things like £5 parking per day.  We do have a couple of young kids though so walking with all their crap would be hard.  We rented a small place, in the middle of town for £500 for the week and that included a parking space.  It was a lovely little cottage and this was the busiest week of the year (last week of July)

Camping some sites are funny about youngsters together,  there are some at the other end of the beach to SCYC, which are a short walk along. Great views into the bay.  Yes parking at the club is charged, its a private car park at both ends about £3 a day but inflation will probably hit.
You could try renting a beach bungalow at the yacht club end, not sure on costs, great views. Ill find the ladies tel number later this afternoon for you.
