Hey, i was wondering if anybody could help me out and tell me how someone with no sailmaking experience could get a job in a sailmakers to learn the trade. Thanks

Borrow your mums sewing machine and make some Stunt kites. See if you

Emigate to China or South Africa? That seems to be where a lot of the sails are actually made now. The UK sailmakers are increasingly just sales and service operations.

Sorry, that's not very cheerful. Why not ring a few sailmakers and ask?

Friend of mine got a job with a sailmaker on the back of previously having been a saddle maker - apparently they use similar sewing machines....

Not the most obvious route perhaps.
