Can anybody recommend a company who could brand a
spinnaker? Is it a particularly expensive thing to do?

A member of our mini-fleet has had a white kite arrive. A
potential blank canvas!

A friend of mine had one done a number of years ago now by a lady down Southaptom way.

The problem with modern spinny cloth is that it doesn't take paint or dye very well without doing nasty things to it (anyone else remember the famous shredding/delaminating 49 spinnakers at the 2004 Olympics?)...

They my mate got away with it was he ordered one in a slightly different cloth that takes dye. it looks good 9still does when he uses it).

It would probably be better to get the branding sewn in to the spinnaker when it was new. I'm not sure if it's an option once they have been made....

We have one on our F18. It was made by Grant Piggot. with the name logo sown into the sail.

The problem is the waterproof coating on Ripstop. This can be removed and retreated and is the only way to go if the spinnaker has been made already.
I used to use a company called Octopus down Southampton way but this was probably about 10 years ago...

Ours was done by Hyde, it is a separate panel stiched into the spinnaker rather than being printed. 3 years on it still looks great, and the kite still holds a good shape.

Ok. Thanks all. Doesn't sound like it's going to be cheap
either way.

The "lady" in question in Southampton works for SEWPRO.

They are in School Lane in Hamble, and they can sew-in branding.
