Confession time - who is 'working from home' today in order to see the football?

I'll confess that I have arranged my diary suitably to ensure I'll be watching.

Yes, I know I'm probably getting my hopes up for nothing and they are all overpaid, blah blahs, but its England and overhyping the average is what we are good at!

Who else is blagging the time off and has anyone got a great excuse lined up?  Doctors and dentist appointments are poor

i think its a disgrace that schools are going home early to watch it, its not like its the final FFS!

personally i hate watching football, the players are all too soft and over act, they get paid far too much, 99% of supporters are chav scum that overreact to the smallest situation (just go to a pub and watch an england match to see what i mean).

as a bit of fun to kick about in the park yes, getting paid 100k a week no!

i can see why shops would close, cos when the footballs on most places are like a ghost town.  we'll be staying open, hoping to snare a big spender, plus ive got 15 tvs to choose from to (not) watch it on in the shop.

dont get me wrong i support all the england sports teams through and through, i just find it hard to justify my support to the football team for the above reasons, now rugby, thats a proper sport.......

It could well be England's final!

Bankers should also be allowed time off to watch the football - they can relate to footballists with their similar salaries and ethics...

Everyone in the office was watching the game in the canteen (except for me and a few others). So took the opportunity to leave extra early to get to the club to go sailing.

I never get dragged into the over hyping of football.

Much the same here but in the meeting room next to my desk, got so much done with my ipod plugged in my ears to drown out vuvu-bloody-zela that someone had brought in.

If you wanted to skive .. um .. support your national team ... you could, most of the office took up this offer, but of course those of us who didn't watch it still had to "work" ... Managment were all watching the football so it was a case of:

15:00 - Frank the last of the mail
15:15 - Make a cup of tea
15:18 - feet up with a good book

Lovely afternoon

Well, sailing V's football on Sunday afternoon. Comet Versa open for me, having borrowed a boat for the weekend. Feel like it needs a picnic on board, Swallows and Amazons style.
