I have got yet another boat, (laser 4000) and looking for a club near where we live Bracklesham bay, we can launch off the beach but want somehwere to race,
itchenor and chichester only sail certian classes,

we looked at hisc even tho we can see it from our house it takes a long time to get there,

cost is a big factor, as we just want somewhere socal and with good racing,

Handicap or class racing?....

Felpham sailing club have 2 laser 4000's in their handicap class..as well as
RS200, 400's, Merlins, and lots and lots of blazes.

A very active social club, of the beach sailing, not too far..and reasonably
priced too!

It's a shame you're so far away. There are three new 4000s
at Castle Cove this year. We're having a right laugh!

im tempted about lancing, its only 40 mins, and is alot cheeper than the rip off clubs round here, for me and sam and the boat is going to cost us over 600 quid at any place round here,

Chichester is all handicap racing so you'd be welcome.

I recall someone telling me that Itchenor promote 4000's, as a mid-point between their 200 & I14 fleets...

they dont sail 4ks at itchenor, and chichester is very expensive, for 2 of us and the boat is well over 650 quid, and cant justify that, we can keep the boat at hisc, but a bit of a drive, and emsworth have closed their entries for the year, i cant see why a sailing club would turn away new members,

so looking like we may be down to lancing, only thing that puts us off is its beach launching so when you get those howling days you want to just go for it you cant

Have you been to Lancing lately? We were talking about the beach again tonight during a meeting: all the shingle that was on the beach at low tide has gone offshore (you can see the stones at the bottom when the water is clear, quite far out). The beach is mostly sand and launching / landing is now considerably easier than it was a few years ago.

Also, don't forget we're a friendly bunch and there's always a beach party ready for action when the surf is big. Come along, you'll like it!

And we even sail 18foot skiffs off of our beach at Lancing - look at all that sand.

They are a nice and capable bunch at Lancing and you should have no trouble launching and retrieving at all. Best choice by far. Check out their website as well.
If I wasn't sailing at Weir Wood, I would go there.
