Does anyone have any information about the sailing area around Stone SC, on the River Blackwater, Essex. Just there is a big Cadet event there at the weekend and I was wondering if there were any top tips out there.

Thanks in advance.

Have not sailed dinghys round those parts, but have sailed bigger boats,  I found watching the tides handy, I guess this would be an issue (to a point) with smaller boats. The currents can be quite 'forceful'

Oh and watch for Barges, as they can not manoeuvre easily, so don't think the rule book will apply.....it wont!  They are fab boats if you do get to see one under full canvas!!

Take a look at www.stonesc.co.uk

The Blackwater is a lovely place to sail, Have lots of  fun and good racing too!!

And if you're sailing something with a keel, spending a day there is not
much fun as the local jet-skiers love to zoom round you in circles!
