Larry and Ernie have utterly distroyed the Americas Cup, we need to get these races finished with so it can be rebuilt.  The question is, given that the boats they have built are too fragile and specific to actually ever race what should be used instead? Best ideas for single handers or double handers (guess we could let them bring a minion each), that can be sailed in any conditions and be so far removed from what they have been trying to do that it ideally should humiliate them, like they have done to the world of sailing.

Single handers:

Oppy
Zepher
Challenger Tri
...

Double Handers

Wayfarer
Hobie 12
Miracle
...

any other ideas?

perhaps they should use the blow up boats kids use on the beach. That would just about sum them all up what a waste of space the ac has become.

I think I would pick a non-racing machine keel boat that would reward the best sailors, something like an Atlantic.  Anyone ever hear of, let alone race in, an Atlantic?

Or maybe a tinker traveller. I'd like to see how much
money they could pour into pimping a tinker traveller.

It has to be a boat that is NOT COOL in any way shape or form, we do not want to ruin the reputation of any boat that has one, by associating it with this farce.  Much as I would love to see a couple of old blokes helming 49ers on a 20mile W/L course, it would ruin the class permanantly.  That said, anyone got a couple of Albacores knocking about?

After all the Applecores are probably faster than the silly trimaran and catamaran...
