Hi everyone,

Brookbank Sailing are pleased to announce the opening in December
2009 of a 9,000sqft new sailing and kayaking superstore in North
London.

To celebrate the opening, the legendary GBR ex-Olympic sailing coach
Jim Saltonstall will be providing a key note lecture entitled "Championship
Preparation" from 11.30am on Saturday 5th December - a must for any
sailor, of all ages and abilities, who are looking to compete in 2010.

Brookbank London will be the flagship for the Brookband Sailing brand
and will be stocking an extensive range of clothing, hardware, ropes,
spars, instruments and the Topper Sailboat range of dinghies as well as a
large range of canoeing equipment. We will also be launching many of the
new Gill 2010 range of technical clothing and have a number of
manufacturer experts to give advice on all their products.

I hope you will spread the word and pop in when you are passing.

Also we have just launched our Facebook group - Brookbank Sailing so
join up and we will keep you up to date with all that is happening.

We will also be operating a second hand boat shop there so pop in or email
me with details - just off the M25 A10 Enfield junction. Thanks for the kind
words and we hope sailors across the country get involved too!!

Couple of things:
1. Ooh. My helm lives in NE London. He might be happy about this.

2. OOH. Your website has a B14 in the top banner

3: check the spelling in your first post! It's pretty poor to get your own company name wrong!

4: the pdf link on the website is broken...

5. Lea Road, or Lea Valley Road? One appears to be a small residential street, the other has a sailing club on it (though I hear on the grapevine they recently ran out of water)! Edit: Ah, Lead Road Waltham Abbey. Damn lack of imagination in road names in that area.

6. I'm taking a bit of a stab in the dark here, but I think Mark prefers it if people pay for adverts on his site. It's only polite, really, to ask him, if you haven't already.

Thanks Al and appreciate your comments - see below:

1 - Tell your helm to pop in any time!
2 - We cater for all but bear with as we cant stock everything at the
start...
3- Whoops - been a long day sorting out the new store!!!
4 - Website is being sorted out over the next few weeks so again bear
with!
5 - Lea Road just opposite the Broxbourne White Water Centre (London
2012 kayaking site).
6 - Mark suggested I pop something up - we are working with Y&Y and
watch out for the inside front cover of the mag for the next 6 months and
website for official advertising - he also said what a great active forum
this is....!!

Many thanks and look forward to seeing you at the shop soon.

Hi Al

They were kind enough to ask for permission and I suggested they put a post on here, especially since Jim Saltonstall is talking at their opening on the 5th December. They're busily get advertising copy ready and needed to get the message out!

Thanks for checking though!

Cheers, Mark

Damn family getting in the way, else I'd go to that opening...

Edit: is website critique appreciated? Most people don't combine hiking pads with trapeze harnesses, they're rather a one or the other. I know people use removable pad hike shorts WITHOUT the pads with harnesses, but that's not the same!

The more competition the better for the consumer, good luck with the new store.  I will pop in the next time I'm on the way to/from a meeting in London.

Erm, guys... (Brookbank Sailing): You might want to check your Facebook page - It's a "request to join" page, but you don't have any Admins left.

It might put people off, if they figure that they might never be allowed to see the full page contents!

(Could also be an early days glitch.)

Good luck to you guys

and he has said that he will give a lecture shortly for us at the store...
