Hi All,

whats the feedback from the ISAF meeting?

I've just seen on the Sail Melbourne website that the womens match racing has been cancelled due to low entries.  Nice to know Cats were dimissed for such a loved class isn't it!

I've also heard that the RYA are not planning on funding Womens Match Racing either as they don't think they have any realistic medal prospects..

What a ridiculous situation.

John

Long article about one team of prospects in this month's Y&Y, though?

The Tornado Medal race was one of the main reasons that sailing won the best video coverage award in Beijing....

And the first few lines say it all

The first meeting I attended to was the Multihull Commission (MC) meeting. Unfortunately only four members of the MC were present in Busan

So out of a http://www.sailing.org/committees/2009-2012/26304.php - total committee of 8 only 50% bothered to turn up for the most important meeting in the year. Remember that whilst a lot of official business is carried out - it's the unofficial business over the beers/tea/dinner which is where a lot of the arm-twisting takes place. I can understand why there might be good reasons for 1 or even 2 drop outs but for 50% of the committee not to be there...how do you expect ISAF to take multihulls seriously?
