Hi radial179102,

A good place to look for a name for your boat is in horse racing papers, there are thousands of horse names, one of them might appeal to you for your boat.

Another option would be to have a look at:  www.boatus.com/names/Anames.asp

I hope that this helps.

Ian  (Yorkshire Dales S.C.)

P.S. (at 21.19) I've just done some checking and I suspect that you asked a similar question on another forum, under another name, a few months ago, and I gave the same reply.

Call it John Major...like the Laser Radial it is hardwork, not quite the full Maggie, but is quite exciting really 'cos he did manage to have an extra-marital affair (shame it was with Edwina Curry though...)

or "John Smith" cos they are extremely common

or if you like Madness "just another (day) radial"

or for the Simpsons fans "Doh..."

or "ITTYWIMWYBMAD"

And for a pint I will explain the significance of the above.

Im looking for a name for my Europe and had a look on the website
and I like the name Aquaholic!!! As being a student this fits in
appropiatly! Any other names that are funny and dirty would be a
good help to try and improve this name.

or something equally odd.

Nope!! It's much simpler than that!!

As a wise man said, there are three types of job in the world - quick, cheap and good.  But like all things, you only ever get 2 out of 3...

You can have a good quick job but it won't be cheap.

You can have a good cheap job, but it won't be quick.

Or in my case - you can have a quick cheap job but it'll be no bloody good...

And remember folks, the bitterness of disappointment lasts long after the sweet taste of a cheap price has faded away...

I recommend the titles of Pink Floyd album's. They are all suitably random, such as:

  • Atom Heart Mother
  • Delicate Sound of Thunder
  • A Momentary Lapse of Reason
  • Ummagumma

Mark,  do we take it that you might just be a Pink Floyd fan ?   good on ya if the answer is yes

When you see Mark's age, you realise he must have been brought up on the stuff . Not a bad choice, really!

Put it this way - 4 o'clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, Auckland Harbour - two America's cup yachts in full Emirates colour scheme go past back to the marina, a 12ft skiff is out with the number 2 rig just playing around, there are about 30 other small yachts enjoying the autumn sunshine and a good 10 - 12 kts of breeze...I think it must of finally driven me over the edge...

.........and you were stuck in an office all along??

Put it this way: 4o'clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, near Brighton. It's a basking 6ēC, the rain is pelting down, traffic to a standstill along the main roads, got to drop one girl to dance, teach a private lesson, collect girl, etc. Honestly, there are worse fates.... I do feel for you, Blobby...

NOT!

Thats evil. Just returned form traveling in Australia, and now I'm back
in England and it sucks!!!!! I want to be back out there, stood next to
the Marinie Museum where the Global Challenge Yachts are moored.
I got so excited (is that sad). And then I walked to the Opera House
and an americas cup boat sailed past!!! Heaven and the sun was
shining!! Also the house I stayed in Hobart over looked the water,
and I would be washing up watching boats race!! Ahhhhh that was
the life.

my secret is out - I really am a fat, bald, short accountant who works in a shabby office in East Croydon.  I commute to there every day on the train from my 1950's Wimpy home in Redhill.  I have never actually left the UK and I don't even have a passport.

And I sail a Solo...

Love the view by the way...

Well, at least you sail! That's one redeeming feature... A Solo, eh? You're a no-hoper

But somehow, I don't believe it...

Hey what's wrong with East Croydon? Some of us were born there.

And why the tears at sailing a Solo - the class seems to be thriving and
has some really good sailors in it - is there something I should know
before I go for a sail in one as promised to the class association?

Someone suggested Pink Floyd album names, but how about looking into song names, Bon Jovis: "Livin' on a prayer" would work well I think, Dire Straits: "Heavy Fuel", Westlife : "Flying without wings" or even, depending on how much time you spend in the water as opposed to ontop of it, Aretha Franklin: "Rescue Me"
