hello i was wondering how do you get to be a crew on one of the VOR boats?????????????????????????????? do you need any qualification?????????????????????? |

Volvo Ocean Race, and those crews are real proffesionals. There are no passengers on boats like that. I recall a story about Laurie Smith when he skippered one. Each crew was allowed only 1 bag and as they stepped aboard Laurie asked to see each person's toothbrush which he promptly broke the handle off and threw away - that is manic weight saving policy. 01cowda, you don't want to go unless you're mad. |

before you get to the chance to crew a VOR you need to be a full on professional. There is no room for problems as you have to live so close with each other, you spend so much training before you go you would be out of a job before the race even started.
