Hi All just wanted to hear comments on new Catamaran.co.uk website, Carl
has worked long and hard on this, he needs photos and more content.
We all owe him some thanks, he's going to try hard to liase with all to
arrange sailing calendar with less overlap between classes next year.

Replace that picture on the home page, it's terrible and lets down the rest of the site. The horizon should be 'nearly' straight.

I dunno. The strong diagonal line the horizon creates across the page gives quite a striking effect. I think you can make a case for it...

There's a typo on the "Introduction to.." page. The email
address at the bottom is misspelled.
Other than that god work!

Hello All,
Thanks for all the comments.
Contrary to popular belief, It is I, Carl's better half who is responsible for
the design of the new UKCRA website, with of course, Carl's input. Hope
you all like the new site, it has taken ages to rebuild, and as you can see,
there's still a long way to go. We're hoping to make it a really active site
so welcome contributions.
bigwavedave, I'm afraid we're going to have to agree to disagree on that
photo, I think it's a blinding shot, the angles are dynamic and I love the
perspective, with the water splashing in the foreground gives it a real
sense of movement. In web design we generally don't use levels and
plumb lines...
As a matter of interest the photos will be changing regularly, if you have
any photos you think would work, please send them in with permissions
and I'm happy to credit.
English Dave, thanks missed that one.
Much of the information was harvested from the old site which had not
been updated in years so If you find any errors, omissions, or just plain
wrong information I am sure you will all bring it to my attention. Look
forward to all your input.

Congrats
and many thanks for all your hard work .
How about a multihull only forum and ban folks who have nothing more constructive to say than discuss the merits of horizon angles in a photo

Opinions were specifically requested. You can accept or reject them as you like, but its pretty dumb to complain if they are offered in response to the request...

technical point- get the server set up so that entering Catamaran.co.uk doesn't return an error (unless you set up your browser to automatically add www. at the beginning). At the moment only www.catamaran.co.uk works. It should be fairly easy to do. Always, always make it as easy as possible to get to! Don't just say "oh, people should just add the www" or "people should configure their browsers"- you said the site was catamaran.co.uk, so http://catamaran.co.uk should be a valid address!

How about you take your head out from up your arse. He asked for comments, and I gave my opinion.

Great job - only comment is that I found some of the text very difficult to read against the background of the pics. Great improvement though.

Nice site. Classes well represented in the photo's.
It would be good to see some postings of news from events - but thats probably were class associations or clubs need encouragement to take part.
A forum may be useful.

I like the picture, though I do wonder why all the water hasn't run off the right hand side of the page...maybe it is the lake with a slope that water skiers have been looking for for so long!
Nice site, by the way.

Hi
Nice job on the website. I have a few inputs to make which are too petty to list here. What is the E mail address to send them to?
Cheers
Bob
