Bryan Willis Rules in Practice every time for me.

I like the way it shows the rights and obligations of both boats in any given situation around the race course.

Mind you I have still got my plastic boats from my old Elvstrom books!! They are useful for bar room discussions and are my weapon of choice in Monopoly

Ordered ... that is the same as my old one; just wondered if anyone had any other thoughts.

I agree the rules in practice is a great book.

Download the ISAF and the RYA case book! These show not only how rules will be interpreted, but gives a good idea of the judge's thought processes.

PS I also reccomend volunteering for club protest committee duty. Nothing beats having to make a proper decision that affects a fellom members race result as a means of stimulating thought on what the rules actually mean!

I already have the ISAF Case book on my PC, I have been in enough protests and run a few committees, just need to get the latest rule book and mug up as I am doing another event protest committee in the summer ...

Elvstrom, absolutely. I particularly like the red Explanatory section, which shows most typical racing situations and the impact of the rules.
