A topic so that people can post dates of Long Distance races here, eg piers race, Round the solent, Round the Island to name a few

Heres a start

 

May 16/17 Round the Solent......Weston SC

Do all these races allow Cats, I thought Birkett had banned them?

and which of these allow monohull dinghies, as well as cats?

(I dont believe the Birkett allows cats)

Gower Challenge
Mumbles Yacht Club
May 2nd-3rd
(very short notice!)
Open to all beach cats and a great course down the Gower Coast and back to do a round of Swansea Bay.  Gower Challenge series = 4 round the cans races.

hi stuart hope so as we are having a week holiday up there before hand i read on another forum that it was on will have to see if i can find neesie number and give him a ring.

Had a chat with nessie's mate this week and reading between the lines they are 50/50 as to whether this goes ahead this year. some gentle lobbying from those that would like to go might sway it.
