Thinking about it, this thread could prove useful. How many of us, boat in tow to an open meeting, havn't spotted the entrance to a sailing club (some are remarkably well hidden), then had the hassle of backing up the road?

EEEEEASY!

I almost past the entrance ... Made it look like I was just taking a VERY cautious and wide turning into the club though ...

Top tip!!!

just after those gurt iron prison fence/gates there is a big bit of steel on a hrdraulic ram that comes out of the ground. Next to the steel is a sign that says 1 CAR AND TRAILER AT A TIME, do NOT ignore that sign. in fact sit there revi ng your engine as you wait as you have what seems like 3 seconds to get through before the ground rises and your car gets its ass kicked. and definately do not truy and follow someone through!!!!!!

Definately a top tip for any visitors.

I've not been to QMSC for 25 year, when I used to be a member, but I found the picture instantly recognisable. It's funny, I wouldn't be able to give someone directions to get there, although I could probably follow my nose and get there myself (provided the road layouts haven't changed significantly).

Note to clubs with hard to find entrances; How about putting a picture link in on your directions webpage?

JohnW, thats easy now you posted that picture.

The clue is in the name of the file. Delting Boat Club - Delting Marina.

Coal fire powers the lazy breeze .

Bodies are buried amongst the trees

Carrion crows caw

Chains saw

Banjo's Play

Wilsonians make hay.

Osmosis creeps

Boat builders weep

It's another week

Down at the creek...

Aren't there three clubs in that shot GRF? Do we get a point for each?

Edit: there's even possibly, in the far distance, a fourth?

Only made it easy for those who cheat by looking at the file name, however you have now made it easy for all!
(I think the game was up on that one anyway).

Now that is a top tip.

We have a club hidden behind houses, where you woulnt imagine that you would find a sailing club.
The www.multimap.com birds-eye view option gives a clear view.  This will be going on the club web site soon.

http://www.multimap.com/maps/?qs=sl6%208hz&countryCode=GB#map=51.5347,-0.7103%7C20%7C256&be=22992521%7CNorth&bd=useful_information&loc=GB:51.5347:-0.7103:16%7Csl6%208hz%7CSL6%208HZ - Click

(it was a good year for algae when the pic was taken, yuk).
