Who's been ordering their £12.95 hiking pants from discountsailing.com then?

Definitely a bargain not to be missed in my opinion!

Nobody, if they've got any sense.  I've had two pairs of GUL Hiking pants, they were both rubbish, terrible quality, fell to bits after only three or four times used.  Both were bought cheaply, but beware it's just good money after bad.  Since replaced with a pair of Rooster Hiking shorts which are just fantastic, so much more comfortable and supportive.

Regards

PhantomHelm

Can't comment on hiking short - don't have any, but I do have a
new GUL wetsuit which is EXCELLENT.

£12.95!!!!!! Blimey that does sound too good to be true. I've got Magic Marine ones but the padding in them always gets caught under the rim of the boat which can be a real pain when drop hiking cos it's not easy getting yourself back in at the best of times!!!

Note to any hiking pants designers.... test them out first!!!!!

Yep - it is too good to be true!!

Hint - wear a pair of lycra shorts over your hikers - this will smooth them out and should stop them getting trapped under the lip of the deck.

I looked at the Queensport pants - the Rooster ones are very very similar, plus looking at the photograph on the web site you seem to have to be a bit of a fat B*****d to use them?

You definitely don't have to be a lardy person to use them. I am a feather footed sailor who uses Queensports and they rock. Even use them under my dry suit in the cold stuff. Got them through Scottish Sailing too - right size, mail order - perfect!

the rooster ones are ace too though, between them and the queensports, you wont find anything better!

All that hiking sounds like hard work  I've just moved on from my laser and bought an RS 600, planing past my old laser fleet friends upwind always makes me smile

Yeah but hiking is so much more rewarding, because the speed gains from really working your body are huge and it is a great feeling to know that you are putting something in.

I think I prefer trapezing (mainly because my feet are too small
to fit underneath the toestraps!)
