Maximus - the new all Kiwi supermaxi with rotating wing mast out on her maiden sail on the Waitemata this afternoon (NZT). (Sorry about the quality of the shot).

Launch shot - Maximum features a retracting canting keel which swings
50 degrees. The retracting mechanism is contained in the keel strut. KS |

The chappy driving the travel-lift did have his work cut out as Maximus was a very tight fit into the dock designed for an AC yacht. They had ropes etc on to pull her back. Finally it got down to this.. KS

Maximus - full rig. This is a rotating wing mast - notable for only two sets of spreaders plus the lower diamonds. KS
