I'm running Virtual Skipper both days on the main stage as well. I'm just redesigning the Cowes Waterfront a little on the game with a couple of advertising hoardings...

And I'll be all over the place..........

SHOPPING

Contender443 will regret taking us... new rash vests and I fancy a pair of hiking shorts, hmmm maybe a new wetsuit... and plenty of bits for the boats.

I'm asking you: is it worth buying all new bits for an ancient Topper?? I'd rather buy a new boat   , get in the fast fleet and beat Contender443!

(one day, who knows )

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I am going to be working on both days in A&E at the local hospital. So, if any of you get too peeved to stand / accidently trip over and bash you head on a boat / have a heart attack then you'll be coming to say hello to me!

So, don't take it the wrong way if I say I hope I don't see any of you on the Dinghy Show weekend.

Mind you, if anyone wants to come to the Cherub Party on Saturday night send me a pm and I'll give you directions...

Will the VS 3 course be the same as last year?

Is there a chance that you could tell us loyal forum contributers what the settings are so that we can get a bit of practise in before the big day?!

i'm pretty sure that they allowed people to qualify in advance last year, or was that just a dream?...

I like the 3/4 lenght ones, you can wear 'em as a shortie as well then, or over your wetsuit, or under your derysuit.

http://www.roostersailing.com/merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=1&Product_Code=rhsl&Category_Code=wet - http://www.roostersailing.com/merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=P ROD&Store_Code=1&Product_Code=rhsl&Category_Code =wet

I have thoses rooster ones, theyre good, and are very popular in the topper fleet.

They'll make a bit of a whole in your pocket though, but it's worth every penny of it for the pain saved.

And its not unusual for topper sailors to wear rooster 3/4's over drysuits, well the whole our squad did when i last saw them.
They look realy good i must say.

Heeeeee haaaaaaaa!!

As a Dinghy show first-timer, I wasn't too sure what to expect. Loads of noise, people talking techie and rushing about....

Well, I had a great time!! I met KnightMare, Mark Jardine (both very good-looking, in their own way ). I also bumped into loads of people I knew. Incredible! And I thought I knew no one in the sailing world!!

Congratulations to the RYA for getting together such a good exhibition. The kids were happy with the games, the freebies and the shopping (yep, couldn't resist  ). I was happy with the atmosphere and the size of the show, not too big, you can take your time and come back to the stands you like. Finally, Contender443 was extatic , meeting all his Contender buddies!

Finally, everyone on each stand was very helpful, but the Y&Y patch was definitely the best!!!

I was there - one of the first to arrive (9:30) and one of the last to leave.  I enjoyed it and there was about 40 from BBSC and I met a few from Wilsonian (which is where I'll be this summer) but no Vago.  They only have one prototype and that is in Amsterdam, this is a big marketting mistake since most people I spoke too wanted to see the "new kid on the block".  Several of my friends have booked test sails whereas I'm more interested in things like the B14 and F18 cats (I'm a speed freak).  I had a look at VS on the Y&Y stand but couldn't read the name badges without my glasses so I don't know who I spoke to.  I had a little sticker of my avatar on my jumper but nobody noticed.  I liked the Fast Sail stand, a very enthusiastic guy spoke to us about the Javelin.  A fantastic National 12 on their stand - looks nothing like an old N12.   Some tremendous enthusiasm for the B14 on their stand.  Cherabs look good. Great show, suggest you get along, and next year we ought to have a meeting for the forum members, Mark Jardin, perhaps you could organise it?

Yes she did - at the last cout it was

1 fleece

3 rashvests

1 pair of gloves

1 trapeze harness

1 pair wetsuit socks

1 childs wetsuit (size 1 - she is only 3 years old so cute)

1 Contender t-shirt

1 sweatshirt

Countless key rings and other freebie

and finally and not the cheapest by far 1 carbon boom.

That was one serious day of shopping!!! Got to start saving for next year asd BNS liked the look of the Byte with the CII rig.

Better question is: have you recovered from dragging two over-excited 8-year-olds all over the show all afternoon? My E was really chuffed to have been with your D  !

The Treasure Hunt was a very good idea. It kept my two girls amused for quite a while, especially because the route was decided by my 8-year-old . It took us the best part of two hours to complete the picture and we walked past the same stands at least 20 times... Still, I had a good look around and talked to many nice people.... Not bad!!

The show was pretty good.  Just got back to newcastle this morning from it.  Redback, glad you enjoyed the B14, (did we talk, was not sure who to look out for?).  The 29ers were not set up for people to trapeeze off, unfortyunately somone stole/trashed the hull used for that last year so it won't be running for a while.

Just one point of note, respect is due to the Y&Y team, taking advantage of the free bar on saturday night but still looing bright and breezey the following morning, good show!

I've just seen, I'm in one of the dinghy show pictures on the site.  Standing behind the leech of Ainsley's finn with white t-shirt and cream combats, i'm all famous and everything, wow!!

It was lovely to be able to chat to the Y+Y team, glad the cookies were ok and I hope you have all been given a few days off to recover!!

Hope all who went got home safely.

The sad thing is though ........ It's a whole year to the next one   It would be nice if we could find a way to meet others from the forum at the show, posting is great when you can put a face to a name. We have a year to work a plan!
