Some forums I go on have a button where you can directly insert a link to a youtube vid ie it comes up with the first frame and the play button, so you don't have to navigate away to see the vid. Also, how about a little FAQ/Guide section so people can work out how to do hyperlinks, post pics etc? ------------- the same, but different... |

OK I'll start. Uploading Pictures. Pictures on the web should be jpg format, sometimes called jpeg. This refers to the 3 letter extension to the file name which in Windows can be configured to be hidden from you. This is a picture format which compresses pictures so that the file size is not so big. If you are going to upload a picture onto the Y&Y forum it has to be 200kB maximum so use a jpg format. If your picture is not a jpg then open it in your picture editing software and save it again as a jpg. While you've got your picture editor open you should also resize your picture so that it is about 1000 pixels wide or high - anything larger than that is likely to spill over the edge on some peoples screen.
Having said all that please do upload pictures - we don't get enough. |
