The 30th anniversary National Championships of the Sprint 15 takes place at Thorpe Bay Yacht Club on 16-18 August and is followed by 3 days of fun sailing on 19-21 August. A fun packed programme is planned with 7 championship races followed by a go-kart grand prix and sailing excursions around the Thames estuary. A big attendance is anticipated after a superb Sprint 15 Sport Nationals with 43 entries and lot's of wind at the North Devon Yacht Club, Instow, on 27-29 June. Sprint 15 Class Association Members are reminded that they must get their entries in by 14 July to get the £15 discount on the entry cost and members who are under 23 in full time education will enter free, if they pre-enter. We got 61 entries/ boats taking part at Thorpe Bay which makes the Sprint 15 the UKs biggest catamaran Nationals this year. All 7 races were sailed even though it was force 5-7 on the last day. The daily results were posted on the Class website within a couple of hours of the sailors coming ashore - another 1st for the class. The class continues to make good progress |
