Day one over, 3 races completed in superb conditions, wind 18-22mph I guess. No chop just a little swell on port tack downwind for some reason!! The Darts were doing really well against the big T's & F18's. No clear winner at this stage but tonight there were a couple of dead men walking around the Club and the bar was pretty deserted by 22.30hrs (a first) Forecast for tomorrow is much the same with the wind probably backing slightly, so maybe less gusty? I Hope Rutland is enjoying the same comfortably exciting conditions. I'm not sure when the European A Class regatta finishes but I do hope hope Chris finishes with a top 10 result, last time I looked he was in 9th position. Not forgetting Matt, well done and congratulations.

Sunday and the wind hadn't changed direction at all and the speed had increased. The PRO was reading between 20-25knts. A small swell was running directly down the course and two races were completed. The safety boats were a bit busier as there were a couple of wipe outs (me included) and again the Darts were reveling in the conditions. If Saturdays experience was comfortably exciting then Sundays was EXCITING and in one case expensive, the helm bent the boom and the crew bent the main (teamwork!!) The Welsh Cat Champs was a really good regatta with good courses/race management and conditions which have probably been the best of the season so far.
